Join us for a zoom conversation with Meredith Monk, Allison Sniffin and UO Faculty Ensemble to learn more about Monk’s work Backlight and the process of experimenting with new rehearsal techniques during the pandemic. During the session, recorded excerpts of live socially-distanced rehearsals will be shared, as well as some of Monk and Sniffin’s feedback with the musicians. Meredith Monk is a composer, singer, and creator of new opera, music-theater works, films and installations. Recognized as one of the most unique and influential artists of our time, she is a pioneer in what is now called “extended vocal technique” and “interdisciplinary performance."
