In conjunction with the Art History Association's 10th Annual Student Symposium, "Re-Producing the Original: The Copy’s Role in the History of Art" Anna Gaskell, artist and filmmaker, will screen her film “Bona Fide” which explores authenticity in art. Anna Gaskell has been working in film and photography for twenty years. In 2009 she received the award for Best Documentary Short Film at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Gaskell has been the recipient of grants from NYFA, Artslink, and The Bohen Foundation in 2011. She also received the Best Art Short from the 2005 Kunst Film Biennale in Cologne, Germany; a 2002 Nancy Graves Foundation Grant; and the Citibank Private Bank Photography Prize in 2000. Gaskell’s work is in the permanent collections of major museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Tate Gallery in London; The Israel Museum in Jerusalem; and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. Her most recent film “& Juliet” will be screened in the Film Program at Art Basel in 2014.
