Explore the captivating and thought-provoking photography of Adam J. Long in his latest exhibit at the Aperture Gallery. In 2017, while navigating a world full of unexpected events, Long began to document his late-night walks through the city streets, capturing the surreal and unsettling moments he stumbled upon. From an encounter with a motionless rat in the recess of a wall to other surprising scenes, these photographs represent Long’s visceral response to the tumultuous times, shaped by both societal upheaval and the pandemic.

With each image, Long seeks solace in making sense of his surroundings, using his lens to process the unimaginable. His work is a raw, spontaneous reaction to a world in flux, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences during these turbulent years.
