Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Libraries Exhibit: Past, Present, Future

Wednesday, June 1, 2016

Knight Library
1501 Kincaid Street, Eugene, OR

This display has been created by members of the Asian Pacific Islander Strategic Initiatives Group as part of University of Oregon’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

The goal of this display is to showcase the diversity of experiences of the API community at the University of Oregon, both in the past and today. We feel that it is crucial for the campus community to understand the diversity within the “API” umbrella and the different (hi)stories of these various identities, as it helps to debunk the myth of a monolithic model minority. We hope this display will spark conversations about how we can form coalitions that work for racial justice on campus.
