On March 23, Oregon Governor Kate Brown issued an executive order calling for Oregonians to stay home, closing specific retail businesses, and requiring social distancing in most cases, immediately and until further notice. Social gatherings with people from outside of your household are not allowed until further notice.

Chris Brown from AmeriCan is coming to the UO campus to talk to you, answer questions, and invite applications. Don’t miss this opportunity to network! We invite you to attend an info session on paid summer internships for AmeriCan adventure tours.
Several of our former students have interned for AmeriCan and have gone on to jobs in the tourism industry. The UO Department of German and Scandinavian is collaborating with AmeriCan to seek students from other disciplines for these internships. AmeriCan will hire approximately 45 tour guides this year (only some of whom need to be proficient in German while for others Spanish, French, Korean, or simply only English proficiency is required).
Interns will receive 180 hours or 3.5 weeks of PAID training. As guides, they will then independently lead international tourists through the USA and Canada, have the opportunity to visit beautiful US national parks, and meet people from all around the world. Interns will train management skills, communication skills, leadership skills, budget management skills, etc. Potential interns need to have a clean driving record.
