Respectful, Collaborative Inquiry to Facilitate Systematic Screening Tiered Systems: Wouldn’t it be great if …?

In this presentation, Kathleen Lynne Lane, PhD, BCBA-D, CF-L2, guest lecturer on behalf of the University of Oregon's College of Education, will provide a look back at the journey of her team’s school-based inquiry. Specifically, she will discuss how they have collaborated with partners to examine how educational leaders design, implement, and evaluate Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-tiered (Ci3T) models of prevention in preK-12 schools to (a) prevent the development of students’ learning, behavior, and social and emotional well-being challenges and (b) respond to existing instances, with an emphasis on systematic screening.

Kathleen Lynne Lane, PhD, BCBA-D, CF-L2
Kathleen Lynne Lane is a Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Kansas and Associate Vice Chancellor for Research. Dr. Lane’s research interests focus on designing, implementing, and evaluating Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-tiered (Ci3T) models of prevention in preK-12 schools to (a) prevent the development of learning, behavior, and social and emotional well-being challenges and (b) respond to existing instances, with an emphasis on systematic screening. She is the co-editor of Remedial and Special Education and principal investigator on the following grants funded by the Institute of Education Sciences: Project Enhance (Network) and Project Engage (Pandemic Impact). Dr. Lane has co-authored or edited 14 books and published 242 refereed journal articles and 56 book chapters.

The Reschly Lecture series brings renowned research experts to the University of Oregon campus to discuss topics related to the prevention/intervention of problems in educational achievement, behavior disorders, disability status and mental health challenges with children and youth.
