I wish she was here in person, but overall I left feeling optimistic and overwhelmed at the same time. As a Native woman, I found her discussion to be extremely informative and at the same time hopeful that there are people out there that are doing amazing work in Native country. She pushed me to want to do better and more for my community. Thank you so much for having her as a guest speaker. The food was amazing as well!
Al was an amazing teacher. This was a great hands-on experience that you can't get watching youtube videos. Having the class setting with various bikes, you likely get to see several different ways things are put together (V-brakes vs Disc... Square taper vs Octolink... Freewheel vs Cassette... etc.) Perfect for the casual and slightly more than casual home bike mechanic.
What a sweet service to provide to UO faculty and staff! The instructor was kind, clear with her instructions, and had a calming presence. She was good about starting and ending punctually, as well, which I appreciated.
The workshop facilitator created a safe space for participants to share and explore solutions for procrastination. I was able to take a few insights away that I have not previously heard. I would definitely recommend this series of workshops to students and community members alike.
