Erb Memorial Union (EMU), Amphitheater
1395 University Street, Eugene, OR 97403
The Native American Flagpole Project was launched in 2012 when a group of Lundquist College of Business students accepted the UO "Big Idea Challenge" to enhance cultural presence and help shape the future of the university. Recognizing the limited campus resources displaying Oregon’s Native American culture, students have worked with the UO Many Nations Longhouse, ASUO, UO President’s Office, UO Planning Department and Oregon’s nine federally recognized tribes to design a flagpole installation that serves as a very visible and accessible tribute to Oregon’s Native American history and culture.
Flags will be flown for the first time on October 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the EMU Amphitheater. Please join Oregon Tribal Chairmen, Elders, fellow students, and campus representatives at this historic event.
